[ N-style binocular link design ]

Wider and clearer vision field has been realized by making the vision on both eyes closer with N-style binocular link design.
For conventional progressive design, it is often the case that one eye can see without using the distortion area of lens while another eye goes through the distortion area of lens when seeing peripheral area using both eyes.

[ Reduced the binocular aberration by N-style binocular link design ]

Natural feeling of wearing has been realized by simulating binocular vision movement to reduce the aberration.

[ Enhanced wide and clear design ]

Far peripheral vision and the entrance of near vision have become wider in improving the allocation of aberration on both eyes.
Furthermore, the design is reviewed to make using electronic devices (such as smart phones) more convenient by securing enough addition at the area 9mm below from the EP.(considering natural eye rotation.)

[ Double surface progressive + aspheric design ]

From considerations that the difference of magnification and minimization effect due to the power difference on far and near vision causes the uncomfortableness when worn, the double surface progressive + aspheric design of RESONAS X has been design to reduce this difference by applying optimum curves to align the difference of this magnification (minimization) effect close as possible. Thus provides a more natural vision with less sway and distortion.

[ N-Style Progressive Clearly Aspheric Surface ]

The double surface design of RESONAS X provides more natural vision by effectively compensating the distortion (applying the optimum curve for the best vision) caused by the complicated change of power on progressive lens.This has been achieved by the TOKAI original aspheric surface with 12 steps of curves which varies depending on far and near vision.

For plus lens, since the magnification effect at the near vision is relatively bigger, a deeper curve is applied to the near vision needs to minimized the effect. At the same time, far vision is adjusted as well with shallower curves so the magnification effect for at the far and near visual areas are aligned as possible. (The opposite is made for the minus lens to compensate the stronger minimization effect at the far vision.)

Variable zone control design (Each different design on R & L eye)

Near vision field of RESONAS X is designed to be wider by allocating aberration and addition speed on each eye differently.
If the power at near vision has a plus power, the clear vision field becomes smaller compared to with the lens having minus powers (or the lens relatively closer to minus) at the near vision. This is so on both horizontal and vertical direction, causing requirements to rotate the eyes more when seeing with the near vision.

RESONAS X provides a more comfortable near vision by adjusting the horizontal length of clear vision field and addition speed through optimizing the R and L lens separately depending on the near vision power and addition power each lens has.

The inset can be specified from 0.0mm to 5.0mm at 0.1mm steps, or can also be specified from reading distance from 25cm to 80cm.
